Tony Ivener, a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), is Founder and Managing Shareholder of Ivener Management Group (IMG). He has more than 20 years of experience specializing in accounting and consulting as it relates to the construction industry. Prior to creating IMG, Tony was Shareholder of a regional CPA firm for which he oversaw the Construction Industry Services Division. In this role, he oversaw attestation, tax and consulting services to construction contractors throughout the country, including sheet metal, heavy highway, concrete, utility, electrical and mechanical contractors ranging in annual revenue from $2 million to $100 million.
Tony has been a regularly featured speaker on business, tax and construction industry-related issues for numerous organizations including the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA), Association of General Contractors (AGC), Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA), Florida Institute of CPAs, Enterprise Network Worldwide, Construction Industry CPAs/Consultants Association (CICPAC), and D.C. Metropolitan Subcontractors Association (MSA), among others.
Tony graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1988 and began his own firm Anthony S. Ivener, CPA, P.C., which he merged in 1997 with the regional firm for which he had been working. He was named one of the top CPAs practicing in accounting firms, private industry, government and education by Washington SmartCEO magazine; and was named Super CPA by Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants (VSCPA).
Tony resides in the Washington, D.C. metro area with his wife and two children.
Meet The Team
Chip Matthews
Chip is a Senior Consultant for Ivener Management Group and has been with the firm since 2014. Chip brings over 20 years of experience working in the construction industry and 10 years in the wholesale/retail industry. Chip was a Controller/CFO for a large Heavy/Highway construction company in Northern Virginia. His accounting experience includes researching and implementing the conversion of new accounting software systems, creating WIP schedules for construction firms, developing and implementing internal controls and analyzing and streamlining accounting functions.
Chip holds an undergraduate degree in accounting from George Washington/Benjamin Franklin University.

Halsey Buick Bittel
Halsey Bittel Buick is a Consultant at Ivener Management Group. Prior to joining Ivener Management in February of 2015, she was an Assistant Vice President and Investment Representative at Barclays Wealth and Investment Management. Halsey studied economics at Trinity College and managerial economics at the London School of Economics. She holds her Series 7, 63 and 65 securities licenses.
